New items represent new features/functionality that have been added to ScholarRx applications.
Students can now request time accommodations from their instructors for faculty-assigned, timed tests. Instructors can set these accommodations in the Stats & Analytics application on the ‘Organization Roster’ page. When set, the accommodations will apply to all timed tests created by an instructor. Time accommodations will not apply to tests created by the student.
To configure time accommodations for a student, perform the following steps.
Login to the Stats & Analytics application at: https://faculty-portal.scholarrx.com. The dashboard is displayed.
From the menu, click the ‘Organization Roster’ option. The roster is displayed.
Click the three-dot ellipses next to the desired student. The following options display:
View User Details
Set Accommodation
Click the ‘Set Accommodation’ option. The ‘Set Accommodation’ modal is displayed.
The following table provides a description of each of the items on this modal.
Name
Displays the name of the selected student.
Accommodation Level
Options include:
None
1.5x
2.0x
3.0x
Note: The default question time is 90 seconds; however, it can be modified when the test is created. Any additional time accommodation will be calculated against the selected time.
Cancel
Click the ‘Cancel’ button to exit the modal without saving the selected accommodation.
Save Accommodation
Click the ‘Save Accommodation’ button to save the selected accommodation.
When a time accommodation is configured for a student, an icon is displayed next to their name on the ‘Organization Roster’ page with the selected accommodation.
When the student logs in to take the test, they’ll see the adjusted time calculation when they begin the test.
Email notifications for faculty-created tests will be sent 48 hours before the scheduled start time to ensure students are aware of upcoming assignments. When a test is scheduled with less than 48 hours' notice, the email will be sent immediately.
Note: Tests can be unpublished and modified until their start date and time is reached. If a test is unpublished, modified, and then republished, another email will be sent.
The email will:
Notify students that a test has been created and when it will be available.
Identify the test mode (timed, untimed, tutor).
Include a sharable link to the ‘My Test’ page in the USMLE-Rx application.
[Email example]
Note: Email notifications are sent in the time zone of the test creator, but the date & time displayed in the email will reflect students’ time zone.
The Qmax Create application has been enhanced with the following items.
Users with the ‘Faculty Qmax Author’ role will now see their name next to questions they create on the ‘My Questions’ page. Even when another user revises the question the originating author’s name will continue to display. This helps institutions identify the original author for tracking, accountability, and recognition purposes.
Users with the ‘Faculty Qmax Author’ role who create questions using the Qmax Create application can now delete never published questions or question versions that are in an ‘Approval’ state. When a question or question version in an ‘Approval’ state is deleted and a new version is created, the deleted version number is reused. For example, question Id 12345.2 is deleted, and a new question version is created from question Id 12345.1, then 12345.2 is reused. This ensures version numbers are not skipped and display in chronological order in the database for reporting.
The question version can also be deleted while the question detail is being viewed by clicking on the trash can icon.
Previously, when customers (external users) of the Qmax Create application used the ‘Upload file’ function, a ‘CDN’ and ‘Credit’ column displayed. These columns are only relevant to internal ScholarRx users, so they have been removed.
Previously, when adding users to a user group that already had closed tests assigned, the late additions to the group were:
Seeing the closed test on their ‘My Tests’ page
Receiving a system notification
Receiving an email
Now, when adding users to a user group that already has closed tests assigned, the late additions to the group will not:
See a test if it’s already closed
Get a notification
Get an email
Should the group they are part of get deleted, all test history remains intact for reporting purposes.
