Release notes were designed to give an overview of new, enhanced, & fixed items released to our customers.
New items represent new features/functionality that have been added to ScholarRx applications.
The ‘Manage Assignments’ page has been updated to include two new features.
Auto-close test
Preview test
The auto-close test feature provides a method to configure faculty-created tests to automatically close on the specified due date and time. When a test auto-closes, the test will be submitted for a score based on the last completed answer before the due date/time threshold, and the student will see a message alerting them that the test has expired.
To configure a test to auto-close, perform the following steps.
From the ‘Configure Assignment’ page, enable the checkbox next to the ‘Auto Close at Due Date?’ option at the bottom of the page.
Click the ‘Save Options’ button, then click the ‘Publish Assignments’ option. The test displays on the ‘Manage Assignments’ page with an ‘auto-close’ indicator along with the start date/time and due date/time.
When the auto-close option is enabled on a test, an indicator is also displayed on the ‘Assignment Analysis’ page.
When a test is scheduled to auto-close, students are provided with several indicators to let them know when a test is due.
Students receive an email when a faculty member assigns a test to them. While this functionality is not new to this release, it is one place where the start and due date/time is shared with the student.
A system-generated notification is displayed when the test has reached its start date/time. While this functionality is not new to this release, this is another place where the due date & time is displayed to the student.
When a student begins a test, the due date and time are displayed. While this functionality is not new to this release, this is another place where the due date & time is displayed to the student. Additional text has been added to this page to alert students that all questions must be answered before the due date/time.
When a test has exceeded its due date & time, it is automatically closed and submitted for a score. The following section describes scenarios related to an expired test and what a student may encounter.
When a student hasn’t started a test that has the ‘auto-close’ feature enabled, and the test has reached the due date and time, the test is automatically closed and scored, the system notification no longer displays, and the test is moved to the ‘My Tests’ section.
If the student has the test summary page open (1st illustration), then clicks the ‘Get Started’ button, an error message is displayed (2nd illustration).

When a student is in the process of taking a test that has the auto-close option enabled, and the due date and time is reached, they will see the same ‘Test Expired’ message as shown above in illustration #2. The test is closed, scored, and moved to the ‘My Tests’ section with a status of ‘complete’.
You can now add tags to your Rx Bricks to help organize and describe your content. While tagging currently serves to label and manage your own Bricks, we’re laying the groundwork for more robust features.
In a future release, tags will support advanced search and filtering, making it easier to find and group related content across the platform.
Tags can be applied to Rx Bricks in two different ways:
During step 2 of the brick publishing process
After a brick is published, from the ‘Brick Settings’ page
During the brick publishing process, in step 2 of 3, you can apply tags from the ‘Manage Tags’ modal.
To add tags to a brick that has already been published, open the brick and click the ‘Settings’ button to display the ‘Brick Settings’ page.
Enhancements represent items that have been added to the software or optimized to increase usability.
The ‘Manage Assignments’ page (https://faculty-portal.scholarrx.com/assignments) has been updated to provide a method for test creators to preview a test they have created before assigning it to students.
The preview test option can be accessed from the following tabs:
Published
Closed
To preview a test, perform the following steps.
1. Navigate to either of the two tabs and click the three-dot ellipses next to the desired test.
Click the ‘Preview Assignment’ option. The test is opened in preview mode.
Fixes represent items that impact user experience or system performance.
Previously, distractors were displayed in a random order during the 'Select Questions' step of the test creation process, making it difficult for test creators to visualize the test from a student's perspective. Now, distractors are displayed in alphabetical order.
