Enhancements

Qmax Create - Add Questions to Pools

Authors can now manage question pool membership directly from the ‘Question Edit’ screen in Qmax Create. When viewing a published question, a new ‘Pools’ selector lets you add or remove the question from any of your pools without leaving the editor. The question's current pool assignments are shown automatically, and changes take effect immediately.

  • Inline pool selector — A multi-select dropdown on the Question tab shows all available pools and highlights which pools the question already belongs to.

  • Instant updates — Adding or removing a pool assignment happens in real time — no need to save the question separately.

  • Published questions only — Pool assignments are available once a question has been published, with a clear message shown for unpublished questions.

  • Ownership rules — Only pools you own are editable. Shared pools appear but cannot be modified by non-owners.

Qmax Create – ‘My Questions’ & ‘Team Questions’ Tabs

The Qmax Create ‘My Questions’ page now features two tabs:

  • My Questions — Shows all questions you have authored, with a count badge.

  • Team Questions — Shows questions authored by other members of your team, giving you visibility into your colleagues' work.

This makes it easy to review, search, and manage both your own content and your team's contributions from a single screen.

Faculty Portal - Group Management Improvements

  • Major performance overhaul — Removed drag-and-drop user assignment in favor of a faster, more reliable workflow using the ‘Manage Users’ button and shift+click multi-select. Large schools with many groups now load significantly faster thanks to progressive group loading and optimized user lists.

  • Shift+click multi-select — Select a range of users quickly by holding Shift and clicking, then assign them to groups in bulk via the ‘Manage Users’ menu.

  • Better organization — The ‘Groups’ page is now sorted alphabetically.

Dark Mode

Dark mode is now available across the USMLE-Rx and Faculty Portal apps.

Users can toggle between light and dark themes by toggling the ‘Dark Mode’ option beneath their profile in either app.

All major screens — including flash cards, slideshows, video player, charts, dialogs, and the tutor-mode test interface have been updated with dark mode support. Timed, untimed, simulation, & self-assessment test modes still reflect the light interface style to keep it as consistent as possible with the actual testing interface.

Updated Branding & Color Palette

Refreshed brand colors, logos, and icons across the Faculty Portal and USMLE-Rx apps. New animated app icons, updated loading and error screens, and a unified color palette ensure a consistent, modern look and feel.

Below is an example of the updated icons in the USMLE-Rx and Faculty Portal apps.
